Earn While Hack

Overview:
The contest will take place at the CanSecWest conference in Vancouver, British Columbia during the 7th, 8th, and 9th of March.

There will be 4 targets this year, the most popular browsers on the market:

Official Site Here

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Apple Safari

Google Chrome

Mozilla Firefox

The targets will be running on the latest, fully patched version of either Windows 7 or Lion.

The contest will be point-based and the winners will be the top three point-holders at the end of the final day*. Any contestant who demonstrates a working 0day exploit against the latest version of the browser will be awarded 32 points. When the contest begins we will be announcing 2 vulnerabilities per target that were patched in recent years. The first contestant (or team) who is able to write an exploit for the announced vulnerabilities will be awarded 10, 9, or 8 points depending on the day the exploit is demonstrated.

Unlike last year, the browsers will be eligible for all attacks (and subsequent points) throughout the contest.

*No team or individual can win without having demonstrated at least 1 0day vulnerability.

Prizes:

The first place winner will receive a payment from Hewlett-Packard in the amount of $60,000 USD. Second place will be awarded $30,000 and third place, $15,000 USD. Additionally, the laptops themselves will be awarded as prizes to the winners at the end of the contest.

With regard to Chrome, Google is offering the following cash prizes:

Full Chrome pwn: uses only bugs in Chrome itself to gain full unsandboxed code execution. $20,000 USD per fully disjoint bug set.

Partial Chrome pwn: uses bugs in Chrome and bugs in the operating system to gain full unsandboxed code execution. $10,000 USD per fully disjoint bug set.

"Non-Chrome pwn": uses only OS bugs for the pwn. e.g. Windows kernel font parsing vulns, driver vulns, $0 USD (not eligible).

Technical Details:

0day Vulnerabilities:

The browsers and corresponding operating systems will be fully updated on first day of the contest. Contestants can request to demonstrate a vulnerability at any time during the offical CanSecWest conference hours. A successful compromise of a fully-patched browser will be worth 32 points.

Public Vulnerabilities:

The browsers will be installed on Windows XP (for Firefox, IE, and Chrome) and Snow Leopard (for Safari). That way, the only exploit mitigation that must be overcome is DEP (no ASLR). Also, we will not require a sandbox or protected mode escape for any of the public vulnerability exploits.

To get the competitors started, we will be distributing virtual machine images with the software installed on the proper operating system as well as a proof of concept trigger that will cause the browser to fault.

On the first day (March 7th) a successful compromise using one of the public vulnerabilities will be worth 10 points. On the second day (March 8th) such an attack will be worth 9 points. On the third day, 8 points. This decaying point structure is intended to reduce the likelihood of a tie.

The specific browser versions will be announced on the first day of the contest.

All vulnerabilities demonstrated will be subject to confirmation by the Pwn2Own judges before being officially recognized. This is intended to ensure that duplicate vulnerabilities are not utilized by multiple teams, as well as more complicated situations such as a vulnerability being used against a browser that includes Webkit, but may not be synced with the Webkit nightly trunk (not eligible).

Installing and Running Google Android on Windows

Hi , Folks

Android is a Linux-based operating system for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. It is developed by the Open Handset Alliance led by Google.[9][10]

Google purchased the initial developer of the software, Android Inc., in 2005.[11] The unveiling of the Android distribution in 2007 was announced with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of 86 hardware, software, and telecommunication companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices.[12][13][14][15] Google releases the Android code as open-source, under the Apache License.[16] The Android Open Source Project (AOSP) is tasked with the maintenance and further development of Android.[17]

Android has a large community of developers writing applications ("apps") that extend the functionality of the devices. Developers write primarily in a customized version of Java.[18] Apps can be downloaded from third-party sites or through online stores such as Android Market, the app store run by Google. As of October 2011 there were more than 400,000 apps available for Android, and the estimated number of applications downloaded from the Android Market as of December 2011 exceeded 10 billion.[19][20]

Android was listed as the best-selling smartphone platform worldwide in Q4 2010 by Canalys with over 200 million Android devices in use by November 2011.[23] According to Google's Andy Rubin, as of December 2011 there are over 700,000 Android devices activated every day.[24]

NUI

Also known as Natural  User Interface is Upcoming Interface After the GUI , i.e Graphical User Interface . GUI is Related to Graphics where you had seen the Graphics , Pictures, Buttons etc to communicate with Computer ,Electronics device But in NUI  we have Gestures, and Movement to communication with the Device Like Moving Hand For Closing Window or Waving hand to make Picture in Computer .In Simple Words NUI is Related to Gestures ,Movement to Give Input to the Computer Rather then Clicking Physically Like in GUI.

In Past Year we have This What we called CUI , i.e Command Line Interface , To Give Input to the Computer we have to type Lots of command in Terminal to open a Notepad . but Now With NUI you can simply Move our Hand to open Notepad , etc .

Here is Interesting Experiment Done by a Tech-geek with Use of Open source Os Android and Kinect , Project , where He Connect the Android Screen To Project and Coded Kinect to  Respond to the Gestures According to the Movement of his Gesture.

25% of Doctors Use iPads Professionally

Hi , Tech geeks

According to the latest Survey , A Quarter Of All Doctors In Europe Use i-Pads Professionally , I-pad Market is increasing like leaps and bound , and apps that help in treatment , check up for ipad  etc are also increasing in the market like a  population lol ,

Just over a quarter of all doctors in the EU — primary care and specialist — use an iPad for professional purposes. That’s a big number for a device primarily aimed at content consumption and not hardened against a hospital environment.

And it seems that the doctors in fact do use it primarily for content consumption: a quarter of their “work online time” is spent on it (55% is still on a desktop), looking up articles, showing online resources to patients, and so on. Right now the market for iPad-oriented productivity software for healthcare appears to be more or less wide open; doctors are using the device (40% planned to buy one in the next six months as well), but more as a portable web browser than a care accessory.

From Reading online article to Check report of Patience all can be done in Ipad ,Hence demand is Increasing.

Why Microsoft's India store Hacked

Hackers are again bang with a new Hack  , This Time Microsoft India Store Hacked by Chinese Hackers Named   allegedly belonging to a Chinese group called Evil Shadow Team, struck at www.microsoftstore.co.in on Sunday night, stealing login ids and passwords of people who had used the website for shopping Microsoft products.

They Put site  Offline

While it is troublesome that hackers were able to breach security at a website owned by one of the biggest IT companies in the world, it is more alarming that user details - login ids and passwords - were reportedly stored in plain text file, without any encryption.

Following the hack, the members of Evil Shadow Team, posted a message on the Microsoft website saying "unsafe system will be baptized". The story was first reported by www.wpsauce.com.

Later, the website seemed to have been taken offline by Microsoft. We advise the users at Microsoft India Store to change the password as soon the website comes online. Also, if they have used the same password or login id on any other web service, they should change it immediately.

In recent Years, hacker groups like Lulzsec, Anonymous had carried out several-profile high profile break-ins, putting focus on the security measures companies put in place. Sony allegedly suffered several security breaches and hackers stole user ids and passwords of customers from its network.

There are lots of Hacking Forums ,  Communities are there on internet that encourage the Hackers to Hack and  hack the others nation site like India-Pakistan Hackers continuously in race of hacking site :P of each others.

Reason why Microsoft India Hacked its because , Low Security Of Site , No maintenance , No Professional ethical hacker is appointed to check the security issue..

Must Know Facts About Windows 8

Hello , Tech lovers

Here is Tech Bite for you  ,Today i will give you some details about the new windows 8 preview Running on ARM also known as WOA i.e Windows on ARM , Microsoft has released full details on Windows on ARM today. It will have the Windows desktop, with familiar apps like Explorer, Internet Explorer and the Windows Live apps, plus Office – but everything else will be Metro.

What's WOA?

Microsoft is revealing the technical details of Windows on ARM – which it calls WOA for short – today.

TechRadar talked to Windows chief Steven Sinofsky about what WOA can do, when and how you can get it and which apps it will and won't run.

"Windows on Arm, WOA, is a new member of the Windows family that is built on the foundation of Windows," Sinofsky told us. "It has a high degree of commonality, a very significant amount of shared code with Windows 8. It's going to be developed for, sold and supported as part of our overall Windows ecosystem."

But he didn't want us to think about WOA systems as just PC with a different chip. "We created WOA so that it would enable a new class of PCs with unique capabilities and form factors. It's a new level of device." Think of it as a new weapon for Microsoft in the tablet battle. "It's up-levelling our ability to meet the consumer demand for a device that is reliable and performant over time. The canonical example is the reset and refresh feature and the difference between that and a clean install."

Gorilla Glass demo is quite Good ,
Gorilla Glass, manufactured by Corning, is an alkali-aluminosilicate sheet glass engineered specifically to be thin, light and damage-resistant. Its primary application is portable electronic devices with screens, such as mobile phones, portable media players, and laptop displays. Corning experimented with chemically strengthened glass in 1960, as part of an initiative called "Project Muscle". In 2006, Gorilla Glass was revived as a new project to develop a tough cover glass for electronic devices and consumer electronics drawing on their previous research on strengthened glass.[1][2] The glass is also used on tablets, notebooks and TVs.[3][4]
Its most useful qualities are its strength, scratch resistance and thinness. Gorilla Glass was used in about 20 percent of the world's approximately 200 million mobile handsets in 2010.[5] Corning says that Gorilla Glass is RF compatible and has outstanding optical clarity, making it suitable for HD and 3-D television displays

Windows 8 Windows 8 is the codename for the next version of the Microsoft Windows computer operating system following Windows 7.[2] It has many changes from previous versions. In particular it adds support for ARM microprocessors in addition to the previously supported x86 microprocessors from Intel and AMD. A new Metro-style interface has been added that was designed for touchscreen input in addition to mouse, keyboard, and pen input. Its server version is codenamed Windows Server 8. It will be released in late 2012.w

Windows XP You Ruled !

Here is Interesting News Windows XP still most used OS According to New Survey Conducted by One of Leading Organization.

Microsoft's Windows XP is still comfortably the most popular operating system after gaining a larger share of the market in January, new stats have shown.Despite Redwood's best efforts to convert users to Windows 7, the decade-old XP OS still had 47.19 per cent of all PC and Mac users in January, up from 46.5 per cent in December.Windows 7, which had sold over 400 million licenses as of last summer making it the fastest-selling operating system ever, has 36.4 per cent of the market, according to figures from NetApplications. With the next generation Windows 8 OS set to go public this year, it seems unlikely that Windows 7 will be able to overhaul XP before that transition takes place.

No support for XP beyond 2014Microsoft is still attempting to convince businesses and home users to upgrade to Windows 7 before Windows 8 arrives, with the company dropping support for XP in just two years time.
Over 8 per cent of personal computer users are still on Windows Vista and, as bad as Vista proved to be, it still has a bigger market share than Apple's Mac OS X.
The Macintosh software has 6.39 per cent of all users, which is actually up an entire percentage point from one year ago.
Via: CNET

39% Tablet OS Acquired by Android

Android , Free Open Source Os is now Standing On Amazon’s Shoulders , Acquired 39% of Market in  Tablet Os. Apple’s iPad reigns supreme from whatever angle you choose to look at the tablet market (profits, apps, quality, market share, mind-share, you name it), but research firm Strategy Analytics this morning said Android did manage to capture a record 39 percent tablet OS market share in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Apple maintains the lead with 58 percent market share in Q4 2011 (down from 68 percent in the fourth quarter of 2010).ads with 58% .

The Kindle Fire runs a heavily customized version of Android, sure, but it’s a different beast from, say, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab or Motorola’s Xoom. I would love to know how much of that 39 percent market share can be attributed to the undeniably strong sales numbers of the Kindle Fire.

No shit.

Android Lovers Here is Gift For you,  List of 100 Free Apps and games  with Little Details

 Skifta

Skifta is the first software tool to be granted DLNA certification, meaning it turns your Android phone into an official DLNA device. This in turn means streaming all of your household media to your phone, and beaming your phone videos to your TV. Seems a little buggy at the moment, but there are plenty of updates arriving all the time. Requires Android 2.2 or higher.

Shareprice
Shareprice uses your login from financial site www.iii.co.uk to offer live share price updates on your Android phone. Watch your nest-egg lose 50 per cent in value every three weeks during the latest trans-global financial crisis, live! It's ideal for users with share values so low they have to be checked in private, to ensure their partner doesn't see exactly how much money has disappeared into some notional financial black hole.
Astrid Task /Astrid describes itself as an "open source" task list, which includes syncing support with www.rememberthemilk.com for the ultimate in minutiae management. You set a list of tasks and are then able to order them according to their importance - also setting off a timer to see precisely how long you've wasted on Twitter instead of doing the job in hand. It's basically the world's most complex and in-depth personal to do list, which, if used correctly, will consume more time than the tasks themselves. Ideal for expert-level procrastinators.

GvSIG Mini Maps

gvSIG Mini Maps is an incredibly comprehensive mapping tool which combines major online maps including Google, Bing, Open Street Map and more, which will win UK fans for one huge reason alone - it supports the official and recently open-sourced Ordnance Survey data. This means you're never more than a post code search away from seeing where you are in OS-level detail, which offers much more in the way of accurate local data than other map tools provide.

3banana Notes/ Catch Notes

3banana Notes/ Catch Notes

A simple note-taking tool that lets you sync those disjointed, late night thoughts you have together into one huge, incoherent database. If you have a Snaptic account you're able to sync the Android app with that too - or you can simply log in with your Google details for instant mobile jotting. Once written, notes may also be pinned to the home screen, creating a little post-it note-style reminder icon.

UPDATE: 3banana has undergone a name change and is now known as Catch Notes.

Last.fm

The subscription-based thrills of Last.fm open up a world of music streaming on your mobile. You have to 'buy in' to the odd Last.fm way of organising things and suggesting new music, but if you're easily led and not restricted by bandwidth it's a superb tool.

Winamp

Yes, the same Winamp from a decade ago. It's had an Android app for some time, with recent updates adding support for iTunes, Mac syncing, plenty of music streaming options, new release lists and Shoutcast integration for radio support. It's a fine, free media player.

Social Engineering
Introduction :
Social Engineering is act of manipulating  the person o accomplish goals that may or may not be in the “target’s” best interest. This may include obtaining information, gaining access, or getting the target to take certain action.

Social engineering" as an act of psychological manipulation was popularized by hacker-turned-consultant Kevin Mitnick. The term had previously been associated with the social sciences, but its usage has caught on among computer professionals.

Social engineering techniques and terms :

Pretexting

Pretexting is the act of creating and using an invented scenario (the pretext) to engage a targeted victim in a manner that increases the chance the victim will divulge information or perform actions that would be unlikely in ordinary circumstances. An elaborate lie, it most often involves some prior research or setup and the use of this information for impersonation (e.g., date of birth, Social Security Number, last bill amount) to establish legitimacy in the mind of the target.

Phishing

Phishing is a technique of fraudulently obtaining private information. Typically, the phisher sends an e-mail that appears to come from a legitimate business—a bank, or credit card company—requesting "verification" of information and warning of some dire consequence if it is not provided. The e-mail usually contains a link to a fraudulent web page that seems legitimate—with company logos and content—and has a form requesting everything from a home address to an ATM card's PIN.

Who is Kevin Mitnick?

The picture that emerged after his arrest in Raleigh, N.C. last February was of a 31-year old computer programmer, who had been given a number of chances to get his life together but each time was seduced back to the dark side of the computer world. Kevin David Mitnick reached adolescence in suburban Los Angeles in the late 1970s, the same time the personal computer industry was exploding beyond its hobbyist roots. His parents were divorced, and in a lower-middle-class environment that lacked adventure and in which he was largely a loner and an underachiever, he was seduced by the power he could gain over the telephone network. The underground culture of phone phreaks had already flourished for more than a decade, but it was now in the middle of a transition from the analog to the digital world. Using a personal computer and modem it became possible to commandeer a phone company's digital central office switch by dialing in remotely, and Kevin became adept at doing so. Mastery of a local telephone company switch offered more than just free calls: It opened a window into the lives of other people to eavesdrop on the rich and powerful, or on his own enemies.

Mitnick soon fell in with an informal phone phreak gang that met irregularly in a pizza parlor in Hollywood. Much of what they did fell into the category of pranks, like taking over directory assistance and answering operator calls by saying, "Yes, that number is eight-seven-five-zero and a half. Do you know how to dial the half, ma'am?" or changing the class of service on someone's home phone to payphone status, so that whenever they picked up the receiver a recorded voice asked them to deposit twenty cents. But the group seemed to have a mean streak as well. One of its members destroyed files of a San Francisco-based computer time-sharing company, a crime that went unsolved for more than a year -- until a break-in at a Los Angeles telephone company switching center led police to the gang

Know about Rooting Android 2.1, 2.2

Today I will give you basic knowledge of rooting , what the hell it is and other important information related to this Hack.

Introduction :

ROOTING
One of the most incredible, yet-not-advertised hacks for an Android-based phone is Rooting.
Rooting is basically elevating yourself to SuperUser (almost comparable to SYSTEM user in Windows), removing all firmware restrictions on your phone, making it completely customizable, including upgrading to later Android versions (Gingerbread, Honeycomb).
Some of the advantages are ~
1) Increased speed and performance since it removes firmware restrictions
2) Allows you to transfer all your applications from Internal Storage to your SD Card, yet not made available by developers to the Android loyalists :D
3) Installation of tons of apps requiring Root privilege
4) SuperUser permissions required for Debugging consoles like Terminal Emulator, Titanium Back-up, etc.
5) And obviously, Live Wallpapers! (LWPs XD).

Note : Rooting your phone temporarily voids your warranty (but can be easily retrieved by un-rooting your phone to its original state if you want to claim your warranty for any reason) and doing so incorrectly may brick your phone (you can re-flash it using Odin3) or cause a factory reset. Please use at your own risk and I or HF are not responsible if you in any way damage your phone (or yourself)

How to Do Rooting :
Ok let's start ~
(i) Download SuperOneClick v1.5+ by XDA Developers
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682

And if its a Samsung, I highly recommend 'SGS Eclair Easy Rooting' over anything else. Its what I used to root my Galaxy 3 :D
https://rs906l3.rapidshare.com/#!downloa...472DE246F3

(ii) Install required drivers (Mostly installed automatically)
(iii) IMPORTANT: On your phone, go to Settings > Applications > Development > *USB Debugging ON*
(iv) Connect via USB (Tethering is necessary and Wi-fi won't work...
(v) Launch SuperOneClick and click 'ROOT'
(vi) Congratz! Your phone should now be rooted and a 'SuperUser' app should be present in the tray

Search for more guides on installing LiveWallpaperPicker.apk and other post-rooting guides to unlock the full capability of the legendary Android!

Top best free iPhone apps 2012

Top best free iPhone apps 2012

</App>

Gorillacam :
Pretty much from nowhere, Gorillacam arrived in December 2009 from the creators of the Gorillapod tripods. It mashes together a slew of features to hugely improve an iPhone's camera (timer, multi-shot, spirit-level, on-screen grid, 'press anywhere' capture), meaning you can bin a half-dozen standalone apps that offer similar things.

RunKeeper :

The prospect of Nike+ but better and for free might sound unlikely, but that's what RunKeeper provides. Previously split into 'pro' and 'free' versions, the developer now generously includes all the features in one free app.

That means you can spend no money, yet use your iPhone's GPS capabilities to track your jogging and cycling routes, and examine mapping and details of your pace and calories burned. Activities can be shared online, and treadmill runs and other exercise details can be entered manually.

Stanza

Kindle's grabbed many 'electronic book' headlines, but an iPhone or iPod touch is a perfectly competent alternative - at least if you have the right app to hand. Stanza enables you to download books from various sources (many of which offer free titles), and you can transfer your own ePub, PDF or eReader titles from the free Stanza Desktop.

 Movies

Although some aspects of cinema listings app Movies are disappointingly US-centric (notably regarding details on upcoming movies and DVDs), it succeeds where it matters. Select a film and the app figures out where you're located, lists nearby cinemas, and displays times your chosen film is showing. Efficiency can be further increased by pinning favourite cinemas to the top of the list.

TonePad

Virtual pianos and guitars are all very well, but purely digital musical toys are more suited to Apple handhelds. TonePad is the best of them, using a grid-based interface that enables you to turn notes on and off and compose pleasing and harmonious loops; your creations can be edited, saved and uploaded to share with other users.

Evernote

Clients to access the popular Evernote service for storing notes and ideas online are available for so many platforms that we half expect a ZX Spectrum app to be announced tomorrow. On the iPhone, Evernote is efficient and usable, enabling you to rapidly scan your notes and also create new ones.

Around Me

Around Me figures out where you are and lists local stuff - banks, bars, petrol stations and, er, Apple Retail Stores. The app's reliance on Google Maps info means there are gaps, but it's nonetheless handy to have installed when in unfamiliar surroundings, and the 'augmented reality' landscape mode is amusing, if flaky.
